As part of their upcoming conference, the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance wanted to have a slide deck designed that tells the story of who they are, their impacts, their initiatives, and how to support them to run during lunch hour at their conference. Taking my years of experience working with them, I went to work designing a marketing slide deck presentation with these goals in mind: make their slide deck top-notch, showcase them in the best light, keep with their current brand aesthetic, and create a slide deck that could be used beyond their conference.

I’ve worked with the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance for several years on a wide range of design projects, from small pieces to large initiatives. Through that, I’ve built a strong understanding of their mission, goals, and communication.
When they needed a slide deck for their upcoming conference to introduce and promote themselves during the lunch hour, I pulled from existing materials, including their website and past design work, to shape the content and bring it all together.
I started with the most obvious and most important slides – about the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance. I designed a cover, a slide about them, a map of their coalition, how to partner with them, and their contact and social media information. These slides were sprinkled throughout their slide deck.
The next set of slides I wanted to focus on was their impact slides. I felt these were extremely important to show just exactly their reach and their impact statewide. The goals for these slides were to stay consistent with the Y blue/purple color scheme the NJ YMCA State Alliance uses and the design aesthetic we've been using for them so far, and to make these visuals very eye-catching and appealing.
Using some of their approved stock imagery, I got to work creating these high-impact slides, each featuring an impact area with the large number being the first thing you see. These slides needed to tell a story of the impact that the NJ YMCA State Alliance has, so they needed to deliver a visual punch.
Next up, I wanted to highlight their programs and initiatives, such as their Chronic Disease Prevention programs and the very conference that this slide deck would be shown at. Except for one program, I kept with the program branding that was established for each instead of trying to rebrand. This allowed for visual connection between the program they see in the slide deck and the program they see on their website.
Finally, the bulk of the rest of the slide deck presented a new design aesthetic for their donation slides. These slides needed to look and feel different from the rest of the slide deck, as they were included to help boost donations to their various impact areas.
Overall, their slide deck stayed true to the project goals: high-impact visuals, tells the story of who they are, focuses on their initiatives and impacts, while being a slide deck they can use over and over for various purposes with minor edits.
